Grade 11 AP Language and Composition
This is an official College Board approved Advanced Placement course in language and composition. This is primarily a course in rhetoric, focusing on the art and science of argument in written and spoken language. We will be preparing for the AP exam, which includes three types of essay writing (synthesis, analysis and persuasion) as well as challenging multiple choice items that require deep reading and comprehension of a variety of non-fiction texts from different time periods. Students who successfully complete the exam (earning a three or higher on a five point scale) may receive college credit.
Below you will find a link to the vocabulary list that will be used for the remainder of the school year. We will take a quiz covering twenty words (in alphabetical order from the list) each week.
